Ken's Weekly E-Tip: Appliance Rebate Program
CEC is excited to announce that our rebate program resumes Jan. 1, 2017. Qualifying appliances must be verified as Energy Star.
Rebates are available for the following appliances:
- Refrigerators $100
- Freezers $50
- Clothes washers $50
- Dishwashers $25
- Dehumidifiers $25
- Window air conditioners $25
Verifying Energy Star
Look for the Energy Star logo on any of the above appliances when shopping. It is highly recommended that members verify Energy Star status.
To do so, visit www.energystar.gov and select the category "Energy Efficient Products." Choose your particular appliance type. Use the "Product Finder" tab and enter your exact model number. Hit search and if your model appears, it is certified. Members may also call 800-521-0570 x2133 to verify Energy Star compliance.
Two Step Process
CEC requires two pieces of information to process a rebate: A completed rebate form and copy of sales receipt.
- Six appliance rebate forms can be found by visiting www.central.coop. Click the Energy Savings tab and chose appliance rebates. Print and complete the appropriate form.
- Mail completed rebate form and copy of sales slip to address on rebate form.
Rebates are limited to one per appliance type for a calendar year. Please allow up to three weeks for rebate check processing.
Rebate funds are available from renewable energy credits earned by our power supplier's renewable generation assets. Program funding is limited and subject to change or cancellation without notice. Contact CEC at 800-521-0570 x2133 for further program questions.
Earn $50 Bill Credit
Let CEC install a load control device on your electric water heater and earn a $50 one-time bill credit and a monthly $2.50 bill credit. Load management helps stabilize future power costs. Over $350,000 was saved in 2013 by member participation in this program. It also improves reliability by taking demand stress off of our distribution system at critical times. Call 800-521-0570 x2195 to learn more. Members having a water heater installed by the cooperative are not eligible for the credits.
Twitter and Load Control
Participants in our load control program for electric heat and water heaters can find out when and how long control periods are predicted by logging onto www.central.coop and clicking our Twitter logo. Please remember that these are only predictions and actual times may vary.
Energy Efficiency Seminar
Energy efficiency seminars are available for schools and organizations that cover such topics as lighting, insulation and building infiltration. The programs lasts about 30 minutes and can be scheduled by calling 800-521-0570 x2133 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
