Ken's Weekly E-Tip: Peak Alert Season
June marks the beginning of Peak Alert season for Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) members. We will issue radio and website announcements when electric demand is highest on hot, humid weekday afternoons. Members are asked to conserve energy by turning up or off such items as air conditioners, dehumidifiers and pool pumps.
CEC's cost for electricity is directly affected by how much power we use during the five highest summer demand days from June to September. Members can work together to help stabilize future power costs while reducing power plant pollution.
Forever Broadcasting radio stations FROGGY 98.5 FM, WUZZ 107.7 FM, and MAJIC 99.3 FM will air the alerts weekdays between noon to 6 p.m. CEC's website shows the alerts on its homepage at www.central.coop.
