Note: This information is based on service to a new residence; other information may be required for larger services.
You must know the following information before contacting us.
Where is the service needed?
(Please provide street address, township and county)
This helps us obtain the physical location where you, the member, will be building. Please include your township name and county.
Who is your closest neighbor?
This information is important in order to locate your new service. We use your closest neighbor that has service with us, and obtain their map location number. This determines where you will need your new service.
What do you need the service for?
House, trailer, barn, oil well, seasonal/camp, business. This information is required so that we can help you determine what type of service you need. Also, discuss with your electrician/contractor whether or not you need a temporary or permanent service for building purposes only. Temporary services are good for one full year.
Do you want overhead or underground service?
Some lot plans require you to have underground service. Residential underground services need to have a 200 amp underground meter base. You are required to have the ditch dug and ready with 3’ conduit and a pull rope in the conduit. Please see specs for additional information.
What size of service do you need?
We offer anything from 100 to 200 amp or greater. Underground services are required to have a 200 amp underground meter base. Some questions that will help you and your contractor determine what size of service you need are: Will you have electric heat, air conditioning and an electric hot water tank? You will need to talk to your contractor and/or electrician concerning this information.
Is your location marked, or have you started building?
Before we perform a field check of your new service location we would like to mark your meter location, or where you would like your service installed. You need to determine this. Your contractor, electrician or trailer manufacturer can provide this information.
