2020 Annual Meeting Notice

Wednesday | July 1, 2020

Dear Central Electric Cooperative Member,

Safety is the culture of Central Electric Cooperative (CEC). In an effort to protect one another from contracting and spreading COVID-19, CEC has regretfully decided to cancel their traditional annual meeting and member appreciation event at Whitehall Camp and Conference Center in Emlenton. However, the director election and a nonpublic, annual business meeting will still take place.

Members will still receive a director election ballot by mail in July. However, this ballot has been expanded to allow for member participation within the respective areas of the normal business meeting. The results from this ballot will be pronounced at the nonpublic, annual business meeting on Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at CEC’s headquarters in Parker. Detailed directions on completing the ballot and how to vote can be found on the ballot. Additionally, if you have any questions you’d like addressed at the annual business meeting please share them with CEC either through your July issue of Power Lines, CEC’s website, or by calling 800-521-0570.

Out of an abundance of caution for the well-being of cooperative members, CEC has decided to hold the annual business meeting without the physical presence of the membership and is accommodating members’ participation with an expanded ballot. After the meeting, the results will be posted to CEC’s website. A recording of the meeting will also be available for members to view.

CEC has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and continues to prioritize the health and safety of members, staff, and potential event participants. Uncertainty regarding potential restrictions and local, state, and national orders, recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization, all influenced CEC’s decisions regarding this annual event and business meeting.

Please stay safe and know that CEC will continue to operate and provide the highest-quality service possible for you, the members we serve. COVID-19 may necessitate changes in how we interact, but it will not change what we do.

Cooperatively Yours,
Matt Boshaw
Chief Executive Officer/General Manager
