A Personal Statement from Mr. Weaver

It has been my great honor to serve as the Clarion County representative of the Central Electric Cooperative’s (CEC) Board of Directors and to represent all members of CEC.

During the last 45+ years of being a CEC member, I have had the pleasure of witnessing the improvements the cooperative has made for its members. To illustrate just one example, in the 1980’s, and prior to, members had the tedious task of reading their own meters and recording them on their bill. Since then, automatic meter reading was implemented, eliminating this task for the members. This example is just one among countless improvements made throughout the years, and I look forward to all that the future has in store.

As your director, I am committed to continuing to work in alignment with the cooperative business model.

The Seven Cooperative Principles are a constant reminder of my commitment to the membership:

  1. Voluntary and Open Membership
  2. Democratic Member Control
  3. Member's Economic Participation
  4. Autonomy and Independence
  5. Education, Training and Information
  6. Cooperation Among Cooperatives
  7. Concern for Community

I will also take this opportunity to thank the entire group of CEC employees for their diligent efforts each day to make our cooperative the great organization it is. I will end with a simple statement that sums up my experience as the Clarion County representative of CEC's Board of Directors - I am proud to be a part of the cooperative community.
