Safety City

Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) is committed to raising awareness about electrical safety. To reduce the number of electrical incidents in our communities, CEC provides several electrical programs to a variety of groups. One of these programs, Safety City, specifically focuses on educating fourth and fifth grade students. Safety City is a no-cost program demonstrating electrical hazards in our area. This in-person or virtual program gives students a fun, hands on experience that can standalone or supplement their electricity lesson/unit.

CEC's Safety City demonstration helps take electrical safety from words to real-life examples. It teaches students to be aware of electrical hazards and how to prevent electrical related injuries.

The Safety City demonstration includes a summary of electrical concepts and a tabletop display showing common electrical safety accidents. Materials are also distributed to encourage students to take home what they learned.

The safety of our members and employees is our top priority and through electrical safety awareness and education, we can prevent electrical hazards and injuries in the future.
